Melaney: aka Chase. 21 years young. Personal assistant. Artist, writer, party girl, socialite, conessieur. Crazy, beautiful, passionate, artistic, creative, musical, complicated, unique, aggressive, sexy, intense, determined. Scarred. Pierced in 7 places. Has the Cantonese symbol for the word "Chase" tattooed on her right shoulder blade.

Pet loves: Love. Being in love, making love, feeling loved. Her family and her partner Rome. Spending time with friends, dining out, drinking cocktails and dressing up. Writing in journals, reading modern novels, learning new recipes. Coffee, tonic water, seafood (chilli mussels in particular), Cinzano extra dry vermouth, wholegrain bread and [wholegrain] mustard. Trendy bars, fine dining restaurants, casual cafes. Designing, re-designing and designers, creating, art, music, history and travel. Shoes, handbags, jewellery and acrylic nails.

Pet hates: Sluts/whores, tarts, cheaters, airheads, racists, sexists, chauvinists, two-faced people, liars, vomiting, hangovers, cliches, arrogant people, boring people. Mushrooms, beer (other than Stella Artois), spiders, bugs in general, breaking nails, waking up tired.

Romero: aka Rome. My 38 year old partner since May 2003. Divorced. Used to work together. Struggled for a long time with our relationship but now happy to plan for our long term future. Happy-go-lucky, energetic, easy-going, romantic, thoughtful, loving, lovable, hilarious, stable. Owns a 25-fter - "Big Red", a golden retriver - "Lochie" and a large 5x2 in the 'burbs.

Laney: aka the ex-wife of 15 years. Lying, cheating, selfish, adulterous woman still struggling to let go of her [well and truly over] marriage with Rome. Equally struggling to find herself.

The X-Files: aka the "other women". Jacqui, Debbie, Christine, Emma, Shiree that I know of plus at least a dozen more. All ugly, overrated 30-somethings fishing for something that I have caught.

Devon & Pete: aka the "ex-friends". Two men who used to be exceptionally close friends of ours that we now no longer have any wish to associate with. Both troublesome, drug fucked, divorced-with-childen, over-dramatic boys who are having trouble growing up.

Rochelle: aka Rosh, ex-girlfriend & co-worker of Pete, sister of Laney. Gorgeous, blonde 30-something with one daughter. Exceptionally strong but somewhat lonely woman. Intelligent, level headed, focused and determined.

Todd: aka The Alternator. Best mate of Rome's, 30-something country boy from the mines of Kalgoorlie. Backpacked with Rome for a month through Europe, loves horse racing, wears thongs with jeans. Down to Earth blokey bloke.

Dave: aka Cheezey / Cheeseball / The Cheese Factory / Cheese-meister. Best mate of Todd and Rome, currently living/working in Perth but heading back to the mines soon. Pushing 40 and still playing, apparently quite happy to be alone. A simple man with a Coke can.

Frank: aka Dingo. Best mate of Todd & Cheezey, also works 2 on 1 off in Kal. Owns a Harley, dead ringer for a bikie, wears enough gold to sink a ship. 40-something divorcee with 3 kids.

Sugar: Best, best friend who I met at WPC. Complete and utter charmer, loads of fun, total party animal, pretty boy/ladies man. Always there for me when I need him, someone I can always trust and always have fun with.

Madz: Mah girrrl! A WPC girlie, she is one awesome chick! Heaps of fun to party with, cracks me up like no one else and always there for me when I need her. Tough cookie who says it like it is and doesn't apologise for it.

Roxxy Foxxy: Another fantastic WPC girl, been best friends with Shugs for years. Strong, determined girl but heaps of fun and a total party animal - we've had some fantastic nights out together! Another one who will always be there for me, I know I can trust and rely on her always.

Nicole: Very good friend from highschool, spent lots of time partying after we graduated. Candy raver with a candy raver boyfriend. Studying teaching.

Garrett: Best friend I've known since we were 10. Loveable, happy-go-lucky, amorous, gorgeous model. Dating Paul Methurst's brother.
